Coffee Morning Success

24th April 2017

SOCIAL COMMITTEE NEWS

Our St. David’s Day Coffee Morning was another happy occasion. Despite a dreadful wet morning we welcomed a good number of our members and friends who enjoyed the coffee and welsh cakes and buying bargains at our stalls – particularly the delicious home-made cakes. Three pupils from Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr gave us a delightful harp recital and we do thank the school very much for arranging this for us. The youngsters are a credit to themselves, their families and their school. We also thank the Museum Staff who despite the many pressures on their time and expertise are always very helpful to us in preparing the room ready for our events. Our proceeds from the Coffee Morning for RI funds were almost £240.

Our next event in the Museum will be the Strawberry Afternoon Tea on Thursday 22nd June at 2.00. We can promise you a delicious afternoon tea with plenty of strawberries and cream. By special request Bishopston Comprehensive School will be bringing a small group of their talented musicians to entertain us – they have amazed us previously with their beautiful music and I’m sure we can rely on them to do so again this year. Tickets will be £5 on sale at the Museum or phone 01792 232282.

We look forward to seeing you!
